Our clients were eager to raise the roof (quite literally) and embark on a second story addition to the home they’d long lived in. With two young boys, the family had outgrown their barely three bedroom layout and the sky was the limit. We focused on creating a bright, airy, open floorplan on the second floor (a stark contrast to the low-light and low-ceiling single story home with basement that they were used to), and even managed to add some headroom to the main floor once we opened up the ceiling.
In the primary suite, the design concept was “sophisticated spa” — moody materials mixed with serene paint and plenty of windows and skylights to brighten up the space naturally. In the kids’ bathroom, high contrast blacks and whites along with bright pops of the perfect peacock blue came together to form a space that is energizing, inviting, and fun.
